KaVo OP 3D Platform
Providing our patients with the highest quality of care and clear, fast diagnoses are top priorities for the Art of Modern Dentistry family. Our practice is proud to be able to make digital imaging easier and faster for our patients with the KaVo OP 3D platform. If you’re looking forward to a procedure with us that involves advanced imaging, read on to discover what’s in store.
What is the KaVo OP 3D Platform?
The KaVo OP 3D platform allows us to rapidly scan your mouth and jaw, resulting in quality imaging that can be leveraged to plan your care. Depending on your individual situation, we may use the machine to make a 3D representation of your mouth or take quality, 2D panoramic images in nine seconds. These visuals can help us determine the bone density in your jaw for implants, assess your TMJ condition, and allow us to see other pertinent dental details invisible to the naked eye.
3D Imaging
The KaVo OP 3D scanner has four predefined fields of vision optimized for true clinical needs. With this function, we’re able to plan for individual implants, wisdom tooth extractions, and get a visual on impacted teeth. The system is powerful enough to create surgical templates for 3D-navigated surgeries, conduct TMJ diagnostics, and even perform sinus analysis on children.
Multiple Resolution Settings
As long as x-ray technology has been available to dental practices, the risks of radiation exposure have been present for dental patients. With the KaVo OP 3D scanner, we’re able to more precisely control the dosage with greater resolution than ever before. It is especially important to control dosage for patients with specific conditions or who have had many previous x-rays. Using this modern platform, we have the ability to take area-specific, high-resolution digital scans for advanced clinical review.
Panoramic Imaging
The panoramic images taken by the KaVo OP 3D platform are clear, swiftly processed, and can replace several options previously available to dentists, such as bitewing imaging. The KaVo system is more forgiving than precursor imaging systems, compiling a clear panoramic image despite bodily shifts from patients. This allows us to render crisp, useful images with minimal exposure to each patient.
