Celebrities You Didn’t Know Had Veneers
Appearances are everything in Hollywood. After all, Hollywood is the land of beautiful people, and we assume that they must have been born that way. Actually, many Hollywood stars have used cosmetic dentistry to fix their damaged smiles.
A beautiful smile versus cracked teeth can be the difference between success and failure in Hollywood. And cosmetic dentistry can transform a misshapen smile into a picture-perfect one.
Veneers turn cracked teeth into A-list worthy teeth. Celebrities know this and many take advantage of the capabilities of cosmetic dentistry to restore a damaged smile or simply upgrade.
We’ll tell you which Hollywood star has veneers, but first some background.
What are Veneers?
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry defines veneers as a “thin piece of porcelain used to re-create the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.”
The thin pieces of porcelain are placed on the tooth to change certain aspects like length, shape, size or color. They can also be used to fix chipped and gap teeth.
How Does it Work
All Veneers are custom made to fit your individual teeth. Veneers typically take one to two appointments to place. Your dentist will take X-rays and in some cases make impressions of your current teeth and mouth before creating the veneer.
The dentist then removes an amount of enamel equivalent to the amount that will be added with the veneer. The veneer is put in place using an adhesive and then cemented.
